A Relationship Graph (RG) is the second "new tool" used in the Grief Recovery Method to help participants take a deeper look at what may be emotionally incomplete for them within a specific relationship.

Once the GRM participant has completed their Loss History Graph, they are asked to think about which of their relationships they most need to "work on" to bring relief/recovery from the grief they're experiencing. Most times, this will be someone who has died, either recently or some time ago. However, the GRM process also works well on those living relationships with undelivered communications or "grief" surrounding things one wishes were different, better, or more about that relationship.

The Relationship Graph is the tool used to graph a specific relationship in its entirety, including at least two lines above and two lines below the horizontal to avoid enshrinement or bedevilment. Using the Relationship Graph as a guide, the participant is then asked to identify the undelivered communications that need to be constructed and given voice through reading the GRM Completion Letter.
