The Grief Recovery Institute (GRI) is the United States organization that oversees all Grief Recovery Method activities and GRM Specialists across the US and many countries worldwide.
The GRI was founded by John W. James in the 1980s. Russell Friedman later joined the GRI. John and Russell continued to support grievers in many ways, most notably by publishing various updated editions of The Grief Recovery Handbook, When Children Grieve, and three other titles. John’s son, Cole James, became President and CEO of the GRI in 2018 upon his father’s retirement.
The GRI also maintains the website www.griefrecoverymethod.com, where more information can be found.
