According to the Grief Recovery Method, grief is:

  1. The normal and natural response to change or loss of any kind.

  2. The conflicting feelings resulting from a change in, or end of, a familiar pattern of behavior.

  3. The feeling of reaching out for someone who’s always been there for you only to find that when you need them one more time, they’re not there. OR the feeling of reaching out for someone who’s never been there for you only to find that when you need them one more time, they’re still not there.
OR the feeling of reaching out for myself, who’s either always or never been there for me, only to find that when I need me one more time, I’m not there (or still not there) for me.
